I'm just a young man, and so, I can't speak from experiences other than my own, but as young men and women, we feel, for quite a long time, that we're all going in the same direction, that we are following the same path as everyone else, that we all share the same destiny, and, naturally, we beg the question : "Will it ever change?", just until we realize that it does.
We keep going like pretty much everyone else around us, without really caring about what awaits further, until something breaks the pattern, when we make a curve, when we discover our real selves. That's when we hit the switch. Once it was hit, we begin to shape our own life, our own style, our own philosophy, our own personality. We stop being "some guy" , and start doing something that associates our face to a name in the eyes of the others. We make ourselves a new pair of glasses, and those that are, like me, disgusted by the surroundings, and more and more so everyday, start fighting trying to open the eyes of others, give them new glasses. Even so, day after day I come closer to figuring out that, even if few are on this road, I am back where i started, following a mainstream, even if I now am perfectly self-aware, I can't help but wonder... when will we hit the next switch ?
