Cast away
There are times in life when you experience a hollowness of the soul. Times when no matter what you do, it never seems to matter, neither to the ones around, nor to yourself. Because of that seemingly everlasting emptiness, you draw yourself away from everyone and everything you love and find a so called salvation in rather unchallenging new activities that instead of helping you overcome what you experience, "aid" you by prolonging the uncomfortable stasis. Not only do those activities get you to a point where you come to indulge yourself in your miserable mood, but they enhance the black hole even further, making it harder and harder to bypass your condition. Even in those moments, though, remember who you are, because at that point, you won't be able to regain yourself but for your own determination. Pick yourself up, and, regardless of the difficulty implied, start rebuilding what you once were step by step, for the purpose of every trough you pass through is to make you push yourself up in order to reach the crest ahead. Do that, and not only will you cease to feel cast away, but you will see yourself a better individual than ever before.
