The customary new-year's resolution
At the beginning of every year of our lives, we make amends on what ever great things we plan on achieving, knowing, deep down that we'll never actually do anything. It's not an unusual problem at all. In fact, i think it's one of the top ten certainties of human life, up there with the reality of having to wake up each morning and the imminence of death.
Anyway , why is it that we don't get to our goals by the end of the year ? -Because we worry too much. Each January 1st we make our plans and amends for the next 360-something days and thus, get crushed under the weight of all that. The key is to never make this kind of plans for more than one day. Call it Carpe Diem if you want, or don't, but the point is that we have to live in the present, especially since wondering what will happen the next day leaves you impaired in actually doing something in the current one. I'm not saying you don't need to plan ahead, only a fool wouldn't.However, when is the last time you actually did something you said you would "do tomorrow" ?
See? now, instead of resorting to the "tomorrow, i will ..." idiom, take a foot-note from this iron-willed fellow in the picture, who kept up stretching since January 1st and still seems to endure.
